Acloset is taking Hyper-personalization to the fashion industry through the AI-powered Digital Closet Platform

Looko, which operates an AI-powered digital closet platform ‘Acloset’, is a South Korean fashion tech startup that solves the universal fashion dilemma of ‘a closet full of clothes, but nothing to wear’ by adopting advanced artificial intelligence technology. Looko launched a digital closet service ‘Acloset’ in February 2021. This app allows users to easily create their own digital closet by taking pictures of items or linking online purchase information from fashion commerce sites. Digital closet lets users see and manage all their clothes in the palm of their hand in one app. Unlike existing digital closet apps, Acloset has AI technology that automatically analyzes each item and personal style. It also recommends customized outfit combinations based on the algorithm developed by fashion specialists.

When the users upload clothes items, Acloset’s AI removes messy backgrounds and classifies detailed clothing information. Through this process, users can get clear item images registered and see automatically entered detailed information. Based on a dataset of over 23 million users’ clothes, Acloset’s AI classifies category, color, materials, season, and pattern within 0.03 seconds. Based on the clothes information and outfit history registered in the app, the AI analyzes the user’s taste in style and recommends personalized styling ideas. Acloset also analyzes in-app outfit recommendation feedback submitted directly by users and continuously upgrades its algorithm to provide personalized recommendations to each user.

Acloset lets users digitize their clothes, receive personalized outfit recommendations and get to know users’ fashion life that they didn’t even recognize before at a glance through style analysis. Satisfying global needs to make the best use of ‘My clothes’, Acloset is rapidly growing further by achieving 1 million global users within 20 months of launching the service. It is noteworthy that most of the users are inflowing from Gen Z women in Europe and the United States.

Looko plans to expand the business to the secondhand marketplace for preloved clothes in 2023. Users will be able to easily sell items they do not wear anymore by selecting items from their digital closet. Acloset will help users to quickly find proper buyers by recommending potential buyers for each item based on advanced AI technology.
